WE ARE MORE THAN JUST A PLACE TO SHOP.

WE’RE A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN MEET UP WITH YOUR RUNNING BUDDIES, JOIN EVENTS AND GET TO KNOW OTHER RUNNERS AND WALKERS. IF YOU’RE LOOKING TO MEET SOME FELLOW RUNNERS PLEASE CHECK OUT THESE DETROIT RUNNING GROUPS.

RUNdetroit GROUP RUNS

SATURDAY GROUP RUN YEAR ROUND RUNdetroit 8:00 AM
MONDAY TRACK WORKOUT APRIL-OCT 30 2017 WSU Track 5:45 - 7PM

We host a free group run every Saturday at 8am year-round, rain or shine. Each week we will have 3, 6 and 10 mile route options. We’ve got several routes that we cycle through so if you show up 3 weeks in a row we’ll do something different each time. Small maps will be handed out before the run. You can also view our running routes here. All paces are welcome — runners, walkers, walk-joggers — come on out!

The run leaves at 8am from our store at 441 W Canfield St. We’ve got lots of free parking options. Please do not park in the Traffic Jam lot. We can stow your keys inside the store and will provide water and electrolyte drink samples for before and after the run.

We do this every Saturday year-round except for a few. There is no group run on the following dates:

Monday Night Track Workouts

-Workouts geared toward Full/Half Erie, Chicago, Free Press, Monumental etc
-Workouts to improve 5k or 10k for beginner to experienced runners
-These are updated/new workouts for 2017!
-Post workout Body Weight Strength workouts (as time allows)

“Speed” is relative! Whether you’re training for a time or just to finish your event, track workouts can give anyone an advantage. We’ll explain the workout when you arrive at the track and we'll suggest an interval pace for you based on your goal race pace. Bring a water bottle and a watch! (the watch is so you can monitor your pace. See you Mondays, ready to warm up at 5:45pm sharp.
*Bathrooms at the track are sometimes locked. Feel free to stop by the RUNdetroit store (about 1 mile away) to use the restroom on your way to the track

For those new to the track:
400 meters = 1 lap (on most outdoor tracks)
200 meters= 1/2 lap
Move around the track counter-clockwise, look behind you before making an abrupt stop, faster runners use innermost lanes, slower runners in the outer lanes
